Recap
Hi everyone,
Episode 1 was a success because people brought themselves into it: artists performed, volunteers helped, media contributors documented, and the community showed up to help set the first scene.
We also heard that people want a little more clarity around what The SCEEN is, which makes sense. The name has layers. It is the scene: the people, the artists, the community, and the energy around the work. It is setting the scene: shaping the space before something happens. It is a scene in a film or a play: a temporary world with sound, movement, characters, costume, light, and memory. It is also about being seen.
At its heart, The SCEEN is about experimentation and co-creation. We want to build a space where people can bring performance, visual art, music, media, installation, theatre, games, movement, ritual, strange ideas, and things that would never normally appear on a traditional dance floor.
It is also about spotlighting the local community. Because we bring a strong media presence into these events, the space becomes a place where people can show up fully. Bring your best self. Perform. Dance. Create. Contribute. Be part of the scene, and you can be SCEEN.
Work has already begun on performances, visual ideas, and the shape of Episode 2. We want the next one to feel even more alive, more participatory, and more open to what the community wants to bring.
A huge thank you to Evolved Movement Arts / @evolvedmovementarts for hosting the first SCEEN at Evolved Movement Arts, and to Ionic Sound / @jaymichael_ionicsoundsystems for bringing the legendary Ionic sound system into the space.
Special thanks to Rosemary Bigbull / @postfunkclarity for showing up and lighting the space, and to Rekelyk / @rekelyk for filming and helping document the night.
Special thanks to Gealach Aura / @gealachaura for running door and picking up supplies. We could not have run the event without her, or without everyone who showed up early to help and pitched in at the end.
Thank you as well to our amazing marketing director Ayrielle Lemieux / @finding.ayrielle for helping carry the signal outward and giving The SCEEN a stronger voice before the first episode even opened.

| Feedback + Episode 2 |
| Help shape Episode 2. |
| Tell us what worked, what you want more of, and what you might want to bring next time. We are opening the door for people to help co-create the space, contribute ideas, and sponsor the series in support of local arts. |

Episode 2
The next episode is already in motion.
The next edition of The SCEEN is scheduled for June 7, 2026 at Evolved Movement Arts.
We are already working on performances, visual direction, and new ways for people to participate. A strong future direction is creating things like music videos, performance pieces, and media moments out of the energy that gathers at SCEEN. These are small beginnings with huge potential, and we want to see how big this can become.
If you have art, a concept, an installation, a performance idea, a game, a ritual, a media idea, or something strange that could belong in the space, we want to hear from you.
More details will come soon, but for now consider this your invitation to step into SCEEN Episode 2.

If you have ideas and want to contribute, reach out. The next SCEEN can include performance, visual art, installations, theatre, roleplaying games, media experiments, dance floor ideas, sponsorship, and other contributions we have not imagined yet.
We are also opening the door for sponsors who want to support local arts in a way that has real presence. The SCEEN is built around community, documentation, performance, and media, which means the right sponsor is not just seen on a poster. They become part of the story people remember and share.
Thank you again for showing up, performing, volunteering, documenting, listening, dancing, experimenting, and helping the first version of this series become real.
